Public Relations Pros Offer Affordable
PR 102: Social Media Seminar for Nonprofit Groups
Seeing the success of social media used by area businesses to reach their customers, nonprofit groups are interested in learning more about how these new communications techniques can be used to reach donors, volunteers and clients.
To help local nonprofit organizations, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Southern Arizona Chapter, is partnering with Pima Community College to present PR102: Social Media for Nonprofit Organizations. PRSA has designed this timely seminar to be affordable, costing only $15, and useful, providing practical advice for nonprofit managers on how to maximize their organizations’ public relations and communications efforts using social media.
“As a nonprofit employee, I know how much pressure local organizations are under to provide the services Tucsonans depend on,” said Chapter President Angela Hagen, communications and public relations manager at Our Family Services. “In times like these, communicating effectively is more important than ever, so I’m proud PRSA can help by sharing our expertise.”
The half-day seminar will run from 8 am to noon, Friday, Nov. 20, in the main meeting room at the PCC Community Campus, 401 N Bonita Avenue (http://www.pima.edu/maps/index.shtml?map=6 ). The $15 fee includes a continental breakfast and handouts. The seminar will be led by some of the top public relations professionals in metro Tucson with registration and networking beginning at 7:30 am and the program starting promptly at 8 am.
